Supervising Attorney

Daniel M. Garcia, Supervising Attorney

  • Daniel Garcia began his career as a criminal prosecutor at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office in Chicago, Illinois in 2010. He first worked as a criminal appeals attorney for Cook County and drafted and filed numerous responsive appeals on behalf of the State Attorney's office. He was later transferred to the trial group in the 1st Municipal District in the City of Chicago and later to the fifth district in Bridgeview, a suburb of the southwest of Chicago. While working in a trial group, he brought more than 100 cases to trial and handled thousands of misdemeanor cases, from DUI to assault cases resulting in serious injury.
  • In 2013, Mr. Garcia decided to return to his home state of Arizona and took another prosecution job at the Coconino County Attorney's Office in Flagstaff, Arizona after he was licensed to practice in Arizona. During his time with the Coconino County prosecutor's office he handled crimes ranging from aggravated DUIs to homicides. Mr. Garcia's first felony trial was a gang murder case that he co-handled with his colleague for 3 months in 2015. Mr. Garcia later became the lead prosecutor of the drug interdiction unit, which handles drug trafficking cases in Coconino County. It was at this time that he became familiar with state and federal undercover investigations involving drug trafficking throughout Arizona and the United States in general. During this time, he oversaw the investigation and prosecution phase of "Operation Nightfall."
  • In 2017, Mr. Garcia relocated to the Phoenix area and began his career as a criminal defense attorney. Since January 2017, Mr. Garcia has effectively defended clients accused of state and federal crimes, with a strong focus on drug trafficking, smuggling and arms smuggling cases. As a defense attorney, Mr. Garcia has conducted trials in the State Superior Court and the Federal Court. Mr. Garcia has worked zealously to obtain reduced plea agreements and even dismissal of charges entirely during the pretrial phase of numerous felony cases. With over 100 criminal trials under his belt, Mr. Garcia is always ready to go to trial to advocate on behalf of his clients.
  • As a defense attorney, Mr. Garcia has had the pleasure of representing many clients who are part of the immigrant community in Arizona. As a Spanish and English speaker he understands that Spanish speaking clients are often misunderstood throughout the criminal justice process and sometimes even by people who are trying to help with legal matters. Throughout this experience, he had the opportunity to learn from immigration attorneys the consequences that criminal charges have on people who have immigrated to the United States. He feels a special connection to this community because he is the son of a Mexican immigrant and a naturalized citizen from the state of Michoacan, Mexico.
